Freedom from the Slavery of the Localized Self
Slavery, whether it be physical, emotional, intellectual or of any other type is the worst misery of life and freedom is the highest possible goal, which the human consciousness can comprehend of. During the evolution of society from feudal era to the modern era, humanity has faced the anguish and pain of even the physical slavery which was just worst. Nothing more worst can be thought of than this. Today physical slavery may not be any more; but, almost we all are the worst victim of mental, emotional and intellectual slavery.
Why is slavery worst?
If you see this existence, it is quite vast and infinite pervading everywhere. This vastness is the supreme glory of this magnificent existence. If you proceed towards vastness, you proceed towards God. Being a material entity means getting confined to a fixed deterministic pattern in a localized periphery of this space-time continuum. Getting confined to a periphery is the biggest slavery, misery and sin, because it robs you of the opportunity to live the vastest spectrum of life which lies beyond the confinement of your localized existence. When vast space is available, then why to confine yourself to a cocoon?
So living the vastness is living the life to the ultimate.
When one exists at the lower state of consciousness, one’s existence is confined to the just body and mind; and in that state one is just a living system with innate basic instincts like emotion etc, not a living being. One is just the conglomeration of various physiological units, an automated robot. When you evolve to a little bit of higher consciousness, the horizon of mind expands with some esthetic emotions. Further evolution expands one’s intellectual faculty. In this state you expand till the periphery of society, nature etc., but, one still remains prisoner of the localized being. When one expands further in consciousness, then, consciousness expands your being beyond space time continuum. You pervade everywhere, not physically, but from within of your being. Your mind, soul and God all gets merged in one, and then you become a living being sparkling with the radiance of super-consciousness. God reflects in you, you reflect in God. God is there in you, and you are there in God. There is a perfect merge. You exist everywhere with the center of your being present in every bit of the existence. When wind blows, your inner being wavers in the wind of gaiety. When it rains, your inner being dances with the melody of the existence. When a tree fuddles, you get romantic with the whole existence. When a child smiles, you smile in God. When a beautiful lady yawns in drowsiness, you rest in zero. It means being evolved in super-consciousness you enjoy and relish the ambrosia of the whole existence. You are no more confined to a dark blind dungeon of your limited existence. You become God, God becomes you. There is no duality left behind. Everything becomes one. This grand union is God. So, when you are enslaved to a small cocoon of your life, you miss the opportunity of living and being God. So, all slavery and bondages are the worst misery of life.
What enslaves you?
a) Your belief
b) Your confinement to a fixed pattern of life
c) Your hormonal emotions
d) Your idealism
e) Your lust, desire and attachment
f) You yourself
Most of people are shackled with lots of beliefs. Their whole knowledge is nothing, but, the bag of assumptions and they project their assumptions as their knowledge. Just test yourself whatever is your so called knowledge is about spirituality or about God, have you ever questioned your such belief, have you ever cross checked them, have you ever challenged them? No, you simply borrowed the so called knowledge without having the self realization of that information. Your society your family, your teachers, all of them just imposed their information on to you and you are afflicted to live your entire life with their bonded beliefs. Why? Because you never questioned them. I am not saying whatever they taught were wrong. I am saying what all of them taught to you, those were never your realization. So, these information can never enlighten your life. It can never become your wisdom. Without testing your borrowed and imposed knowledge on the anvil of logic and analysis in a vast matrix of truth, if you have accepted something as your knowledge, you have enslaved yourself for whole life. You have shut down the door of further evolution into the absolute truth.
I have seen so many people, they are stuck to a fixed pattern of life and they feel arrogant about it. When the existence is so varied, then why are you so fixed? If you are a so called intellectual, you have a fixed pattern of life. When you are free, most probably you water your plants and trees in your garden. You never dance, you never sing because you are a slave of your subtle ego and inertia. Life is a continuous flow, let it flow freely unrestricted in the beautiful river of the nature. Don’t be a long bearded jhola and kurta branded (carrying a cotton bag on shoulder and wearing a cotton or khadi Kurta) intellectual with disheveled hair. That way you will miss the glory of life.
Most of the people are enslaved with the hormonal emotions. The so called love, jealousy, anger, hatred etc. are nothing, but, the hormonal emotions. These hormonal emotions possess you, you lose your life; you just become a gross matter. With these emotions as being the driving force, you are just a driven tool or machine. You lose your own existence as being. You remain just as a living system. These hormonal emotions are codified in our genetic constitution. You just behave like a genetic machine as per your genetic code. When you are possessed by these emotions, be aware of the fact immediately that these emotions are always ephemeral, hormonally driven. Be conscious of these emotions and you will be free from the confinement of these emotions. See “Saas Bahu serials” are nothing, but, the commercial portrayal of these hormonal emotions making women as their tool to earn money. Don’t be a customer of these “Saas Bahu soaps”.
So many so called intellectuals label themselves into certain idealism. Idealism or clinging to a certain philosophy means to lack totality in your approach; your knowledge is partial. Being a Hindu, Muslim, Christian or being Indian, American, Pakistani etc., a dualist or non-dualist, Marxist or liberal, all these show that you have not evolved to the totality of the truth. We all know that our lust, desire or any sort of attachment ultimately create bondages to us. Having attachment to your relatives whether they be your son, daughter, wife, husband, brother, sister, mother, father etc. all these attachments force you to live your life with lots of compromises. When you are forced to live your life all the time in a collective frame, you will have to live with lots of compromises and every compromise will create a distance between your actual you and your present you. Don’t live life with compromises; don’t force others to live their life with compromises because of you. Give freedom and enjoy freedom. In the present system of relationship everybody tries to encroach upon others life by giving unsolicited suggestions and in that way creates bondage for other. Don’t encroach upon others life, nor let anyone do the same with you. To be free from the slavery of lust, desire and attachment, you will have to raise the level of your consciousness. In the state of lust, craving or aversion, you become unconscious of yourself.
You, your present self is the biggest slavery if you just analyze how you define yourself. Whatever way you define yourself, that is your confinement, because that is fragmented reality. Come out of the cocoon of your being. Life is beyond your confinement too. Let yourself gorge into the outer space of your present self. If you are enslaved by someone else, this can be forgiven. But, if you are enslaved by yourself, this can never be forgiven. Making yourself as your own slave is the biggest misery of life. Make yourself free from your own confinement and see how the existence is out-stretched outside in the infinite sky of joy, unrestrained freedom and divine bliss. Expand yourself to the highest possible matrix of the existence. Let the whole existence be your identity. And this is possible only when, you are established in the infinite ocean of super-consciousness.
